Handler package
Our tours operate on somewhat of a different format since we are primarily a racing kennel. We have often been asked what we do to train our dogs for the races they enter. Because of the interest, we decided to set up ‘handler tours’ that allow you to be directly involved with our racing team. When you come out with us, you will help harness, hook up and feed the dogs as well as be able to ride in the sled or on the four-wheeler, depending on conditions. We do not offer the chance to drive your own sled.
- $20 – $60 depending on the length of run.
End of Season package
When all the racing is done and the weather is starting to warm up, we offer the chance to come with us on a leisurely run. It could include a lunch if you wish to do a longer run, or it can be a short outing to just see what all the fuss is about, anyway. We are more flexible with this type of package since we do not have training schedule to maintain.
- $15 per hour for the first person and $10 per hour for people after that. We can design packages tailored to suit individual interests.
*Special Handler package*
If your first handler package outing is not enough, then we may offer the opportunity to come away with us to a race. It would span a weekend and, like the first handler package, it would include helping take care of the dogs, harnessing and feeding. You would be able to immerse yourself in the frenzy that is race day and you would be able to experience a race from a unique vantage point. This is not a standard package and it is not always available.
- Pricing for this will have to be arranged when the opportunity arises.
Kennel Tour package
This is your chance to come and see the dogs at their home. Come and visit with the dogs, toss them a treat and give them some scratches. This is also a good opportunity to meet the mushers and get any questions you may have answered.
- $10 per person.
Things to remember
- we are a small kennel and, as such, cannot offer our packages to groups.
- we train in almost any weather. Bring extra gear if you think you’ll be cold or wet. We do have limited extra gear on hand but don’t include it when planning what you’ll wear.
- Unless you choose the End of Season package, our dogs are training for races so there won’t be a lot of opportunities to stop and take pictures while running. This means pee before we get underway.
