Nomad Kennels Racing Sled Dogs grew out of a passion for exploring what Northern Ontario and the Yukon had to offer in the form of winter adventure. We started racing after deciding our dogs were up for new and greater challenges. At first, attending races was just a great way of running new trails and meeting up with other mushing friends. But then we began to like the excitement and the competition and the way our dogs fed off of the energy, too, so we began to focus on how we would best be able to improve our dogs’ abilities, as well as our own.
After five years of carefully chosen dogs, selective breeding with quality bloodlines, rigorous training of both musher and dogs and the knowledge that can only be gained through experience, we feel we have a very reliable, competent and competitive team. Our sights are set firmly on the horizons of a successful racing career with a healthy, happy and eager team of sled dogs.
